Peri-Menopause Workshop
1 Day | Online On Zoom | A Craniosacral Therapy Approach With Mary Bolingbroke And Nicci Parry
Service Description
This postgraduate training is designed for Craniosacral Therapists and Osteopaths who wish to deepen their understanding and skills in supporting women through the transition of peri-menopause. A separate course on menopause and post-menopause will follow. While Craniosacral Therapy has traditionally focused on pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period, perimenopause represents another profound developmental threshold - reshaping physiology, identity, and the nervous system, and requiring equally skilled therapeutic support. This course explores the physiological, hormonal, emotional and psychological changes of peri-menopause, including the roles of oestrogen, progesterone, cortisol and related systems. Common symptoms are considered alongside Craniosacral Therapy approaches that support regulation and wellbeing. Peri-menopause is more than a hormonal shift; it is a developmental transition that invites reflection, reorganisation and change. As hormonal resilience changes, long-held patterns, identities and adaptive strategies may become more apparent. Rather than viewing symptoms as dysfunction, Craniosacral Therapy offers a lens of curiosity, understanding them as expressions of the body’s attempt to adapt and reorganise. Each client brings a lived history held within the body. Early experiences including a woman’s own birth may shape nervous system development and lifelong patterns of responding to stress, change and transition. Peri-menopause may bring earlier adaptations into greater awareness, including experiences from birth, childhood, reproductive history, loss, trauma and other significant life events. As a major transition, it can offer an opportunity for integration. Craniosacral Therapy is not about fixing peri-menopause, but creating the conditions for deep listening to: • the body • the nervous system • the tissues • emotional experience • adaptive patterns • the deeper intelligence beneath symptoms From this listening, clients may begin to recognise the layers beneath symptoms: exhaustion beneath striving, grief beneath irritation, and the emergence of a more authentic sense of self. Peri-menopause is a whole-person shift affecting physiology, psychology, relationships, identity, energy and meaning. Autumn is a season of harvest, a time to gather wisdom and release what no longer serves. Many clients move from asking, “How do I get back to who I was?” to “Who am I becoming now?” For more info please see our instagram post
